Our Glazing

It’s important you choose the correct glass type for your windows or doors, balancing a number of key factors such as security, solar control, thermal efficiency, weight and the size of glass required.

All of our windows are available in a wide range of glazing options depending on your requirements. Our expert advisors can help you source the best solution for your property.

Single glazing is often used when trying to match the design of older properties or for modern buildings where low weight is required.

It should be noted however that the thermal efficiency, security and sound proofing levels of single glazing will be lower than double glazing window units.

Whilst triple glazing may perform better when it comes to thermal performance or heat loss, double glazing will be a much more cost effective option if you are constrained by budget.

All of our double glazing is A-rated or above as standard and expertly crafted with 16mm argon gas filled cavities. This not only protects you from the outside elements but will keep heat in and help reduce your heating bills.

Additionally, our sealed double glazed windows and doors offer a high level of sound insulation to help reduce noise pollution from the outside.

Triple glazing Is the number one choice for new builds where the overall energy efficiency of the entire property is concerned. There’s no doubt that triple glazing offers the best thermal performance but you will spend more than standard double glazing and you may want to think about other areas in the property that may be susceptible to heat loss first.

Our triple glazed window units are argon gas filled to offer the ultimate in thermal performance, security, noise reduction and security.   The added benefit of sealed triple glazed units is that they provide maximum resistance to condensation build-up or misting between the glazing panes.

Noise reduction glazing is acoustic glass that is fitted within your window frames to prevent noise from penetrating through.  Our noise reduction glazing units are guaranteed to significantly reduce the amount of outside noise heard from inside your property.

To ensure maximum benefit from noise reduction windows, we recommend the entire window unit is manufactured by experts.  Our timber window units combine top quality noise reduction glazing with rubber and silicone seals and specialist timber constructions for the ultimate in sound dampening.

Our experienced fitters use a unique installation and sealant method for complete protection.

Obscure glazing is a smart solution where security or privacy is needed but it can also be installed as a stunning feature in period or contemporary properties.

In general, obscure glass offers partial transparency and is either chemically treated, twisted to create a pattern or acid etched to create frosted glass.

Obscure glass still allows light to travel through the glazing but offers the benefit of  high levels of privacy and security.

We offer 4 types of obscure glazing:

  • Frosted Glass – seen as a white opaque finish, frosted glass is often used in bathrooms or ground floor rooms to create a blurred image whilst still allowing light to pass through.
  • Textured glass – acid etched to create a rough overlay and then twisted to create a pattern. Textured glass is a versatile option to create an attractive feature window or door.
  • Reflective Glass – more commonly used in commercial properties to increase aesthetics or for sustainable reasons, reflective glass acts like a mirror to offer the ultimate in privacy and security.
  • Tinted Glass – darkened or coloured glazing, often chosen to reduce sun rays entering the property and discolouring furniture and fabrics or reduce visibility from the outside.
